The collar can slide over any 1-1/2" diameter pole and be locked in position by tightening the four set screws into place. By using the thru hole in the wing of the collar you can use a variety of different methods to attach support lines to the rails on your boat. We recommend positioning this collar towards the mid to upper location on the mast to help stabilize any excess torque when running your boards. *Support Wire/Cable/Line is Not Included
